Josh Castle, a 2010 graduate of the Institute for a Democratic Future, is a proud Seattle native raised in the Ravenna/U-District neighborhoods. He's been involved in progressive, Democratic campaigns and LGBT equality advocacy since high school.

In 2009, Castle served as the events coordinator for the Approve Referendum 71 campaign with Equal Rights Washington. In 2010, he worked as a field organizer for Friends of Ed Murray where he help organize get-out-the-vote efforts for several Washington State Senate Democrats in tough re-election races.  He also worked with Organizing for America to help thousands of University of Washington students register to vote.

In 2008, Castle worked closely with the Obama and Democratic Coordinated campaigns to organize get-out-the-vote efforts and fundraising events. He also traveled to Pennsylvania and Colorado to train volunteers and canvass for Obama.

When he's not trying to save the world and keep the Democratic Party organized and focused, Castle is riding his bike, watching suspense thrillers, dancing at his favorite Capitol Hill clubs, hitting up downtown happy hour with awesome friends, going on walks and hikes, and planning his next hot, tropical vacation.
