Maurice Classen has dedicated his career to the people and well-being of Seattle as a senior deputy prosecutor, small business owner, and teacher at the University of Washington Law School. He is also currently a candidate for Seattle City Council Position 1.
In addition to his work as a prosecutor, Maurice is part owner of two popular neighborhood pubs, supports other business investments, and is the assistant director of trial advocacy and evidence at the University of Washington Law School. At the UW, Maurice co-founded the Fitzpatrick Fund, an endowed fellowship in human rights, and serves on the UW Law Immigration Clinic Board of Directors. Maurice has attended meetings at the 43rd District for four years and serves as a PCO on his home block on Capitol Hill. He became interested in greater involvement with our district after his work as the campaign manager for King County's Proposition 1. During the campaign Maurice saw the need to communicate not simply as a precinct, but rather as an entire county organization. As a Senior Deputy Prosecutor, he has been a passionate advocate for social justice and believes thoroughly that we can continue to make this a great place to live through activism in our Democratic Party.
