Samantha is a Seattle native. While this is her first year as a member of the 43rd District Democrats, she has been involved in politics since high school. She majored in both music and women's studies at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., and also holds an M.A. in Women's Studies from the University of Cincinnati.
After graduate school, Casne worked as a field organizer for the Hillary Clinton campaign in Iowa and seven other primary states. When the campaign ended, she moved back home to Seattle and began working in Olympia for the Washington State Legislature. She now lives in Eastlake and is a member of the Tacoma Symphony Chorus.
