Reminder: Vote in the King Conservation District election

March 10, 2011

The King Conservation District manages natural resources throughout King County, providing assistance and funding for wildlife habitats, sustainable agriculture and other environmental issues. Last year we elected a progressive to the KCD Board of Supervisors, but the margin of victory was only 279 votes: The KCD election is poorly publicized, ballots are not mailed to voters, and in recent years anti-environment "conservatives" have been trying to take over KCD and undermine conservation efforts.

The good news is that it's not too late to vote in this election: You can vote online at the kingcd.org website, or in person at 1107 SW Grady Way, Suite 130, Renton WA 98057, until Tuesday, March 15th at 9:00 p.m.

Find out more about the candidates in this month's King County Democrats Newsletter. Although none of the candidates formally sought our endorsement, there are strong Democrats and progressives worth supporting in this race.
