Official Call for the 43rd Legislative District Caucus!
Apr 12 2016
OFFICIAL CALL
43rd Democrats Legislative District Caucus
When: Sunday, April 17, 2016, begins at 1 p.m.; doors open at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Lincoln School building (Cascadia Elementary), 4400 Interlake Ave N., Seattle (enter building between N. 43rd and N. 45th on Woodlawn Ave. North). There is a small parking lot at the school.
Who: All duly elected Democrats from the 43rd Democrats Precinct Caucuses (or any duly elected alternates seated in their place).
Why: This is the next step in our caucus process to choose the Democratic nominee for President! We’ll be electing 46 delegates and 23 alternates to represent us at the Congressional District Caucuses and the Washington State Democratic Convention.
Read the proposed agenda and rules for the April 17th caucus.
Questions & Answers
How do I sign-in at the legislative district caucus?
Sign in will be by precinct, so it’s best to know your precinct number (e.g., 43-1345) to efficiently find your sign-in location. (We’ll also have a map available if you forget.) Unlike the precinct caucus, there is no option to fill out a form ahead of time.
Do I need my certificate of election?
If you were issued a certificate of election as a delegate or alternate, please bring it. But not everyone was issued one, and it’s not essential for participation as long as your election was documented in precinct materials that were turned in.
Who is eligible to run for delegate to the next level?
Anyone registered to vote in the 43rd District who will publicly declare themselves as a Democrat.
Who may attend?
It’s an open meeting and anyone is invited to observe.
Additional questions?
Please read though the full proposed agenda and rules for more details. Contact chair@43rddems.org if you have additional questions.
VOLUNTEER AT THE CAUCUS!
Our legislative caucus is a big event to run and we welcome your support in making it successful. If you’d like to have fun and help out, please join us! We need folks to work sign-in tables and to help with tallying votes for delegate races. Please contact chair@43rddems.org if your interested.
DONATE TO COVER CAUCUS COSTS AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL DEMOCRATS
We are asking for a voluntary $10 registration fee to cover the significant costs of running caucuses. The 43rd District Democrats are an all-volunteer effort of scrappy, committed Democrats that receive no money from the state party or other political campaigns and organizations. Donations are not required to participate in the caucuses.
For $25, you can become a member of the 43rd District Democrats. You’ll have voting privileges for local party endorsements and will be supporting voter turnout in one of the deepest blue districts in the state!
Please donate online now at www.43rddemocrats.org/donate or at the door. Thank you for your support!
